Estero— Have you ever fantasized being part of a daredevil Mission: Impossible team, making earth safe for all of humanity? Now’s your chance.
The Friends of South County Regional Library, Inc. has issued a challenge in the spirit of Mission: Impossible. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find, root out and bring to the library any Readers Digest condensed books. Yes, those books. Those books that have taken up miles of shelf space in the nicest of neighborhoods. You know where they are. Turn them in now and clean up the clutter in our neighborhoods and make shelf room available again for real books!
The Friends of the Library have discovered a way of turning these no-longer and never-have-been valuable books into a source of funds for the South County Library. To most of humanity, these books are dust catchers, but to the Friends, these books are gold!
These books have been cluttering up flea markets, garage sales and your neighbors homes for decades. Do your part! Ask your neighbors for their books. Search your garages and storage units for Readers Digest Condensed Books and drop them off during business hours at the South County Regional Library at 21100 Three Oaks Parkway in Estero. The Friends will be able to enhance the library’s wish list by turning trash into treasure.
The Friends of the Library also accepts donations for future sales of books, audio and videotapes, CDs, and jigsaw puzzles during regular library business hours. |
