Local artist creates “Florida Seascapes” murals inside SCRL
Remember the look of recognition and joy when a child
reads a book by identifying the pictures and drawings of
animals? When colors and shapes are more important than
words. That’s how Don Martin saw children with their mothers
at South County Regional Library.
It was last spring, when
visitors to the library watched a kind of coloring book full
of creatures being painted on the walls by Don who was
commissioned to brighten this place where words come to
life. And what inspired him to do the work? “It was for the
kids,” he replied.

2007 Friends newsletter.
